STZ-VP (285): Goldhofer’s big boy among the semi lowloaders Easy. Extreme. Flexible.
The latest addition to the tried and tested STZ-VP family is very much a big boy. The STZ-VP (285) owes its name to the new 285 mm tires and takes the title for the low loader semitrailer with the highest load-carrying capacity from the house of Goldhofer. This STZ version, with the proven pendular axle technology, is available in configurations with between three and ten axles and a choice of decks, namely vessel bridge, crawler deck and flatbed. A technically permissible axle load of 16 tons and a deck profile of just 200 mm for the flatbed – the slimmest on the market – make this low loader unique.
The intelligent and proven chassis design of the STZ series features a convincing combination of extremely wide excavator recesses and relatively short bogies. That reflects our experience as transport specialists: Every millimeter is decisive! Another attraction is the use of Goldhofer’s pendular axle technology, with precision-calculated geometry of the axle suspension for free oscillation of the wheelsets. The advantage: optimum distribution of the load to all the tires and perfect leveling in uneven terrain. A steering angle of up to 65° rounds off the benefits with perfect maneuverability.
In order to keep maintenance costs to a minimum under even the most demanding operating conditions, axle suspension is available with a choice of tapered roller or compact bearings to meet customers’ individual requirements in terms of mileage and maintenance intervals.
With the STZ-VP (285), the STZ family now has a version that can handle much heavier loads thanks to the bigger tires and a maximum fifth-wheel load of 52 tons. The STZ-VP (285) also comes with an extremely sturdy frame for a high bending moment. The optimized excavator recess brings a reduction in overall load height, while the perfectly matching components ensure safe working with maximum payloads. The use of the gooseneck with or without a front bogie and the option to combine the front bogies with the MPA-K family and the rear bogies with the THP family guarantee unbeatable versatility and make a real all-rounder of the STZ-VP (285), which takes even most challenging construction site operations in its stride. Other attractions include the long service life of the big 285 mm tires and the use of high-grade brand products from Goldhofer’s long-established suppliers throughout. In addition, the company’s global service network offers a fast response and worldwide support with excellent availability of original parts.
Long life, easy maintenance, flexible working – these are properties that make the new STZ-VP (285) a top-performing all-in-one solution for your fleet and also for your bottom line: It permits almost every challenging transport operation to be handled with a single lowloader semitrailer – with a modular design that makes it an investment in the future.
