FRIDERICI invests in Goldhofer’s MPA Technology and even greater flexibility for the fleet
FRIDERICI SPÉCIAL is a Swiss company that dates all the way back to the 1880s. In the meantime the owner-managed family business operates from three locations (Tolochenaz, Vernier and Neuchâtel), and its logistics expertise has long been in great demand on both the Swiss and the international heavy haulage and special transportation markets. And with a very large and well diversified fleet, FRIDERICI SPECIAL has the flexibility needed to independently handle every phase of almost any transport operation, from the initial planning to the final execution.
The Swiss company has been a loyal Goldhofer customer since 1976 and now owns thirty low loader semitrailers with a wide range of accessories in the STZ, SPZ and MPA series from the German manufacturer of heavy haulage and special transport solutions.
Latest additions to the FRIDERICI fleet: two MPA 6s
At the end of 2017, FRIDERICI took delivery of two brand-new Goldhofer MPA 6s. CEO Jean-Paul Friderici explains: “With their outstanding steering system, operational flexibility and an attractive deadweight to payload ratio, the two semi lowloaders are a meaningful addition to our fleet. These characteristics fully support our aim of offering customers real added value in the form of optimum planability and operational safety and reliability plus outstanding performance in terms of resource efficiency.”
Since it was launched on the market in 2013, Goldhofer’s »MPA Technology« has developed into a new benchmark in the heavy haulage industry. In the six-axle version, the MPA can handle a payload of 76 tons at an axle load of 12 tons each, while the extendible deck permits a wide range of cargos to be carried. This low loader semitrailer is also very much at home on the construction site, where self-propelled plant can be quickly loaded via a two-piece ramp.
All that is very much to the liking of Technical Director André Friderici: “After the first few jobs, I got a lot of positive feedback from our transport crews. The drivers are delighted with the MacPherson axle with the 60 degree steering angle, which means significantly improved maneuverability with auxiliary steering. With regard to the economics, we are particularly happy with the low maintenance requirements of the MPA 6. Reducing the steering axle system to so few parts means less wear and very impressive long-term availability.”
